The Allen-Bradley 1756-IM16I is an AC digital input module. It has 16 individually isolated inputs, per point isolation, and you can configure a change of state and the input filter times. Compatible with the 1756 ControlLogix chassis, it requires either the 1756-TBS6H or 1756-TBCH 36-pin removable terminal block housing (RTB) to connect it to the chassis. The 1756-IM16I’s operating voltage range is from 159 to 265 Volts AC, maximum inrush current is 250 milliamps, and the voltage category is 240 Volts AC 50/60 Hertz. It has a backplane current of 100 milliamps at 5 Volts and 3 milliamps at 24 Volts, with a total backplane power of 0.58 Watts. The module has a maximum power dissipation of 5.8 Watts at 60 Degrees Celsius and a thermal dissipation of 19.78 BTU/hour. The 1756-IM16I has a screw to backplane input delay time when going from an off to on state, and vice versa. From ‘off’ to ‘on’, the input delay time is the hardware delay of 10 milliseconds max plus the input filter time (user-selectable at 1 or 2 milliseconds), while from ‘on’ to ‘off’, it is the hardware delay time of 8 milliseconds max plus the input filter time (user-selectable at 9 or 18 milliseconds). The maximum current of the module during an off-state is 2.5 milliamps and 40 Volts AC is its maximum voltage at that state. During an on-state, the current ranges from 5 milliamps at 159 Volts AC, 60Hertz to 13 milliamps at 265 Volts AC, 60 Hertz. On the other hand, the on-state voltage range varies and they are: 159-265 Volts AC, 47-63 Hertz at 30 Degrees Celsius with all channels ON, 159-265 Volts AC, 47-63 Hertz at 40 Degrees Celsius with 8 points ON, 159 to 253 Volts AC, 47-63 Hertz at 45 Degrees Celsius with all channels on, and 159 to 242 Volts AC, 47-63 Hertz at 60 Degrees Celsius with all channels ON.
